Royal School is a fully accredited Cambridge Assessment International Examinations (CAIE) Center.
Royal School in Transylvania is proud to be the only school in Cluj-Napoca solely offering the Cambridge Curriculum from 3-19. We are a fully International School, with all pupils learning and studying in English through the Cambridge Curriculum.

As part of our programme we offer extensive support for students who are new to, or who have limited English skills, and up until the age of 8 we do not require any prior English ability to enroll the students.

CAIE’s mission is to support excellence and learning, as well as professional development, in schools – and to work in partnership with Royal School in Transylvania to deliver the best education possible for our learners.

The Council of British International Schools is the largest premier global association for British schools overseas, committed to school improvement, safeguarding, and supporting our members and the wider sector.

Our COBIS Patron’s Accreditation was awarded in October 2022 and lasts for 5 years.

The accreditation is built with school improvement, learning, safeguarding and well-being at the core, the programme supports schools with a British educational ethos worldwide in their development journey.

During our accreditation visit we were especially praised for our safeguarding practices, wellbeing work and our focus on student leadership across the school.

Cambridge Assessment International Education is the world's largest provider of international education programmes and qualifications for 5 to 19 year olds.

The Cambridge Pathway helps learners be ready for the world, offering five stages of education from age 3 to 19, leading seamlessly from early years to pre-university. Each stage builds on the previous and further shapes learners’ knowledge, understanding and skills.

COBIS (Council of British International Schools) is a membership association that represents more than 400 schools and organisations globally. High-quality COBIS schools, which educate over 200,000 students and employ more than 17,000 teachers, can be found in more than 80 countries across Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the Americas.

COBIS Supporting Associates provide a wide range of services and resources to the international schools sector.

ARACIP work with the local schools inspectorate to ensure that all schools are meeting the required standards and appropriate performance indicators. Our authorisation with ARACIP means that we are recognised by the Romanian Educational Ministry as a provider of pre-university education in Romania.

The Award is a global framework for non-formal education and learning, which challenges young people to dream big, celebrate their achievements and make a difference in their world. Through developing transferable skills, increasing their fitness levels, cultivating a sense of adventure and volunteering in their community, the Award helps young people to find their purpose, passion and place in the world.
