Primary Curriculum

Primary Curriculum, Y1-Y6 (5-11 years of age, KS1&2)

Primary School – KeyStage 1 and 2

At the heart of the educational process, lies the child. Here at Royal School in Transylvania, our main goal is to help our students become well rounded individuals. Each child is unique, with his own strenghts and areas of interest. We enroll a maximum of 20 students/year group, having two teachers for each class which allows our team of teachers to provide individualy tailored content to ensure student progress.

Our programme, which is based on the Cambridge Primary Curriculum and the National Curriculum of England, starts learners on an exciting and rewarding educational journey and provides a solid foundation for students between 5 and 11, at the beginning of their school life.

The subjects taught in RS are:

  • English as a First Language
  • Maths
  • Science
  • History
  • Geography
  • Art And Design
  • Music
  • Physical Education (PE)
  • Computing
  • Modern Foreign Languages (at Key Stage 2)

Our unique offer also includes:

  • Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHEE)
  • Mother Tongue
  • Green education

To assess learner performance and report progress to students and parents, Royal School in Transylvania uses the Cambridge Primary testing structure, the most important exam being the external Cambridge Checkpoint exam at the end of Year 6.

Our community is strong and communication lies at the heart of our school. Parental feedback is very important as long as we all contribute, in a mutual agreement, to our students’ well rounded personality development. Visit us for more information!
