Celebrating Achievement, Effort, and Community

As we move towards the end of the school year, we have the opportunity to celebrate some of the events that have taken place recently in this edition of the gazette.

It has indeed been a busy time with our older students having been busy revising and sitting their IGCSE and A/AS level exams, whilst our year 9S and 6S have been completing their checkpoint papers. We will await their results later in the summer.

Our students in year 9 and below have been busy working on the Project Based Learning which we are very much looking forward to sharing with you on June 15th.

As we look forward to the Summer Fete, graduation, prom and the end of term events it is important to recognise all the hard work and effort that goes into organising such events, so thank you teachers, parents and students alike.

Black Sea School Games - Tbilisi, Georgia by Natalia Csalai Y10

Going to Georgia for the BSSG competition, I didn’t have many expectations regarding my sports skills. I mainly decided to go to try something new, but it ended up being one of the best decisions I could’ve made.

Not only did I make lots of new friends, create amazing memories, and have a blast, but I also participated in a competition that taught me a lot about myself. I learned that I was good at football, which surprised me considering I’ve never been a fan of sports in general. I discovered that I enjoy team spirit and that sports can actually be fun.

Going to Georgia is a trip I will never forget, not only because we won third place in volleyball (girls), second place in football, and first place in basketball (boys), which is a great achievement for our school, but also because I made memories that I know will stay with me forever. We all had our ups and downs, wins and losses, injuries and tough moments, but in the end, we will remember the amazing time we had together.

I want to thank Miss Maria and Mr. Lorin for thinking of me when it came to recruiting and for believing in me when I doubted myself. I also want to congratulate everybody else on the team for their amazing performance and for making this one of the best trips I’ve ever been on. Thank you all!

Simplicity Retreat

Our recent trip to Băișoara was a truly enriching and memorable experience for all KS2 students. Throughout the week, the children enthusiastically participated in a wide range of interactive workshops and engaging activities, including building robots designed to collect waste, exploring electric scooters, and taking part in many other innovative, hands-on learning experiences.

One of the absolute highlights of the trip was the time spent outdoors, where the children explored the forest and thoroughly enjoyed imaginative play in the mud kitchen. These activities encouraged creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving, while allowing the students to connect with nature in a meaningful and joyful way. The enthusiasm, laughter, and energy throughout these moments made them some of the most memorable of the entire week.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ioana Lazarescu, one of the parents within our school community, whose support, creativity, and dedication played a key role in the success of this experience. Her thoughtfully designed workshops inspired curiosity and engagement, making the week both highly educational and thoroughly enjoyable.

It was a pleasure to witness the excitement and enthusiasm of the children throughout the trip, and we sincerely thank Mrs. Lazarescu for her invaluable contribution to creating such a meaningful and unforgettable experience for our students.

Sports Day at Royal School – A Day Full of Energy and Fun

Students from our school took part with great enthusiasm in the “Sports Day” event, organised on 27th May at the Baza Sportivă Gheorgheni. It was a truly special day, filled with energy, laughter and wonderful moments shared together, once again showing how important teamwork and friendship are within our school community.

The activities began at 12:00 p.m. and from the very start the students arrived with big smiles and plenty of excitement, ready for competitions and sporting activities. Participants took part in a wide range of interactive games and challenges, including relay races, football, basketball, volleyball and many other activities that highlighted their speed, teamwork and determination.

The atmosphere throughout the day was absolutely brilliant, with both students and teachers cheering on their teams with enthusiasm and positive energy. Fair play, respect and team spirit were the values that stood out the most during the event. Every victory was celebrated with joy, while every challenge was met with ambition, encouragement and support from classmates and teachers alike.

We would like to thank all the teachers who were involved in organising this event and who supported the participants throughout the entire day, motivating and encouraging them to take part with confidence and enthusiasm.

Special appreciation goes to the main organiser, Miss Maria Varga, who put an incredible amount of passion, dedication and effort into preparing and coordinating the activities, playing a key role in the success of this special day. Alongside her, Mister Lorin and Mister Dani offered valuable support and were actively involved in ensuring that everything was well organised and enjoyable for all participants.

In addition to the sporting activities, students also enjoyed spending time together outdoors, listening to music and relaxing with friends. Baza Sportivă Gheorgheni provided the perfect setting for an active and memorable day full of fun and positive energy. Without a doubt, this experience will remain a lovely memory for everyone who took part and we are already looking forward to the next edition!
