Eliza Șmigon is an English and Drama teacher with a background in pedagogy, theatre, performance and literature. She trained in education from high school level, studying pedagogy, child development and classroom practice, before continuing her academic path in the United Kingdom, where she completed both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Warwick.

Her teaching experience has brought her together with students of many ages, cultures and backgrounds. She has taught English and Drama in a variety of contexts and has coordinated drama and storytelling workshops in community settings, including work with refugees and underrepresented groups. These experiences shaped her belief that language, literature and performance can help students build confidence, empathy, imagination and a stronger sense of their own voice.

Eliza enjoys teaching because every lesson offers the possibility of discovery: a thoughtful interpretation of a text, a brave performance choice, a surprising question, or a student finding the confidence to express an idea clearly. Outside the classroom, she enjoys reading, theatre, storytelling and long conversations about books. She has a particular weakness for complex characters, dramatic plot twists, and the kind of stories that stay with you long after you have finished them.
