Parental Meet and Greet

Lead Article by Joe Berwick

Happy new academic year to everyone linked with Royal School. This is always such a wonderful time of year, a busy time of year, but wonderful nonetheless.

This year I wish to briefly thank everyone who came to our wonderful Parental Meet and Greet event at the Radisson Blu Hotel here în Cluj-Napoca. Always an enjoyable experience, and a moment where everyone associated with the school can enjoy each other’s company, and get to know each other a little better! You can find some pictures of this event below.

As we move towards the middle of September, and the 4th week of term is already nearly upon us, I want to wish all of you a positive year ahead here at RS, and I know that with effort, support and a positive attitude we can all be successful and achieve the goals that we have set for ourselves.

Welcome Back to School!

Welcome  Back to School!

A new school year has begun! Welcome, Royal School students! I hope everyone had a fun and relaxing vacation. Did you get a chance to meet up with friends you missed over the break? A lot may have changed—maybe you have a new teacher, new friends, or the school looks a bit different. But one thing that hasn’t changed is our passion and determination as we return to school. Wishing everyone the best of luck this year!

Via Transilvanica Trip

Trips section

Via Transilvanica, the “road that unites,” is a 1,400-kilometre trail crossing Romania from Putna to Drobeta Turnu Severin. Designed for hiking, cycling, and horse riding, it is marked with signposts, painted markers and individually carved andesite stones. These milestones could form the longest art gallery in the world, accompanying travellers along the journey.

Royal School is proud to be a steward of two sections of the Via Transilvanica trails, meaning we are responsible for maintaining and caring for these beautiful routes.  As part of our commitment to the environment, we organise regular trips where students and staff take on the role of environmental protectors, actively picking up litter left behind by less responsible tourists.

This school year, we plan to organise even more trips, including a voluntary community clean-up day in the spring,  inviting the entire school community to participate. Our efforts are not just about cleaning up; they represent a tangible way we can make a positive difference, step by step.

Our first school trip was set for the 19th of September, and we encouraged all students to lace up their shoes, put on their gloves, and lead by example in protecting our natural surroundings.

Recycling on Tuesdays

Announcement: Recycling Programme

We are very excited to announce that the recycling program will resume its activity next week, on Tuesday, 17th September. Students are encouraged to bring in recycling material ( clean paper/ cardboard and batteries)  every Tuesday morning.

For every 2 kilograms of recycled material brought in the students will be rewarded with 1 Eco point and for every 10 batteries with 1 Eco point also. Each Eco point is worth 1 Royal Point.

We would also like to invite students from Y7 and above to join the Eco Team and help with the recycling on Tuesdays, between 8:00 to 8:40, based on a weekly rota that will be sent to them. They will be rewarded with 5 eco points for each day they help out.

If there are any students who are considering joining, they are kindly asked to inform their form tutor by next Monday.

Let’s work together to make a positive impact on the environment.

Thank you for supporting the Eco team!
